What is Residential Treatment?
A residential treatment center (RTC) is a facility with a staff of certified healthcare professionals that provides 24-hour care in a community environment, such as a wilderness lodge on a college campus, a halfway house, or a neighborhood.
Residential treatment offers more structure to help patients focus on their recovery without the distractions of daily life. At some point, patients will be able to practice the skills they are learning in a “real world” environment by stepping down from an intensive treatment program to one where they spend most of their time at home.
